VICTOR MOSES ARRIVES NIGERIA AHEAD OF LIBERIA MATCH

Victor Moses
Chelsea attacker Victor Moses was one of the dozen players that flew into the Super Eagles camp in Calabar on Tuesday and he immediately expressed his delight to play for the country.
The attacking young father announced his arrival in the country via Twitter when he tweeted, “In Nigeria lookin forward to the first training session back with the boys with the national team today.”
His message was received with a couple of reactions from fans who said that they were eager to see him in the Nigerian green jersey on Saturday. The former Wigan star was prompt in response to the well wishers.
He said, “Thank u to everyone for all of your support it means a lot to me. Great to be back in Nigeria.”
Moses has honoured every invitation to the national team since he got his first call up under Nigeria’s former coach, Samson Siasia.
On Tuesday, the Metropolitan Hotel camp of the Eagles was full of activities with more of the players trooping in ahead of the Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Liberia on Saturday. A total of 19 players trained on Tuesday while the remaining three were still being expected early enough for Wednesday’s morning training session.
The 10 foreign based players who joined the seven home-based and Austin Ejide are Vincent Enyeama, Nosa Igiebor, Ikechukwu Uche, Elderson Echejile, Ahmed Musa, Obiora Nwankwo, Efe Ambrose and Brown Ideye. There were also Ogenyi Onazi of Lazio of Italy and Inter Milan’s Joel Obi. Mikel Obi is expected to be the last player arriving as he got delayed by visa processes for his club UEFA Champions League visit to Ukraine.
Goalkeeping issues cropped up after the Eagles played a 2-2 draw in Monrovia in the first leg but the team goalkeepers trainer Ike Shorunmu said on Tuesday that the atmosphere was very encouraging.
“I’m happy at the form of all the three keepers and I must say any of them can be in goal on Saturday with what I have seen so far. All they need is a little pep up from the public perception of them and we are already getting results even on that,” he said.
“These are some of the best goalkeepers in the world and there is no goalkeeper, no matter how great that cannot make mistakes, we must be careful the way we criticize so that we don’t destroy the team and even the careers of our players.”
